About the Trail

Omimi Trail: La Verendrye Provincial Park 100km

Ojibway for pigeon the Omimi Trail stretches 100kms linking the Quetico trail from Northern Light Lake in the west to Partridge Falls on the Pigeon River in the east.

The Trail’s location along the United States-Canada border makes this route somewhat unique and special. The trail follows the rivers and lakes that straddle the international border. On the Canadian side, the trail lies within La Verendrye Provincial Park, which includes the watercourses and generally extends two-hundred metres inland from their northern shores. On the American side, the world renowned Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA) abuts the Trail in its entirety.
